Rooted Within. Growing Forward.
Does this sound familiar?
Your brain is already making a mental to-do list before your feet even hit the floor.
You replay conversations afterward, analyzing what you said and wondering if you said too much, or not enough.
You second-guess your decisions, even when deep down you probably already know what you want.
You put pressure on yourself to keep doing more, yet rarely feel like what you’ve done is enough.
You’re great at giving other people compassion but somehow forget to save any for yourself.
You compare yourself to people who seem happier, more successful, or just generally better at this whole “being a person” thing.
You’re the one everyone can depend on, but being the strong one is starting to feel pretty damn exhausting.
You have a hard time resting without feeling guilty or thinking about what you should be doing instead.
You miss feeling present because your brain is usually somewhere in the past or five hypothetical problems into the future.
You’re ready to stop simply getting through your days and start actually feeling like yourself again.
Your Trauma & Anxiety Therapist near Monrovia, CA
Hi, I’m Miranda, LMFT
Maybe life has been feeling like a lot lately. You’re keeping up, showing up, and doing what needs to be done, but underneath it all, you’re tired. Somehow, that brought you here. Hi, welcome! I’m glad you found me. Before we dive into the therapy part, I think it’s important that you know a little about the person you’ll be sharing this space with.
As a client of therapy myself, I believe therapy should feel like one of the few places where you don’t have to have it all together. You can bring the overthinking, the self-doubt, the complicated feelings, and the parts of your story you’re still trying to make sense of. You don’t need the perfect words or even know exactly where to start. We’ll figure that out together.
Our work isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about understanding the experiences and patterns that shaped you, letting go of the expectations you’ve been carrying, and reconnecting with yourself underneath all the noise. Little by little, we’ll work toward helping you trust yourself, take up space in your own life, and feel more like you again.
Therapy Services near Monrovia, CA
If your mind never seems to slow down, you're constantly second guessing yourself, or you've already played out 17 worst case scenarios before breakfast, you're not alone. Therapy can help you quiet the mental noise and start trusting yourself again. Together, we’ll work on getting you out of your head and back into a life you can actually be present for.
Anxiety Therapy
When the past keeps finding its way into your present, it can leave you feeling stuck, triggered, or wondering why you can’t just “move on.” EMDR helps your brain process experiences that still feel unresolved, so they don’t carry the same emotional weight. The goal isn’t to forget what happened, it’s to help you remember without feeling like you’re still living it.
Trauma / EMDR Therapy
When thoughts about food, your body, or what you “should” be doing start taking up more of your life than you want them to, it can feel exhausting and isolating. Therapy can help you understand what’s underneath those patterns, challenge the shame and rules that keep you stuck, and begin building more trust, compassion, and freedom in your relationship with food, your body, and yourself.

What To Expect
-
The first session is all about creating a foundation. We'll spend time getting to know one another, exploring what led you to therapy, and talking about your goals. I'll also ask questions about your background, relationships, and any experiences that have shaped you so I can better understand the bigger picture, but there's no expectation that you have to tell your whole life story or dive into trauma right away. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer idea of what therapy with me will look like.
-
No two sessions are exactly the same because therapy is tailored to you. Some days we'll process what's happened during your week, while other days we'll explore deeper patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be influencing how you feel today. Think of therapy as a conversation with intention.
Together, we'll identify what's keeping you stuck, develop practical coping strategies, and build insight that leads to lasting change. Some sessions may feel emotional, others may be filled with laughter, and many are a mix of both. Therapy isn't about having all the answers, it's about discovering them together.
-
Not at this time. I offer virtual therapy only for adults located anywhere in California. Online therapy provides the same compassionate, evidence based care as in person sessions while giving you the flexibility to attend from the comfort of your own space. Many clients find it easier to open up when they're in an environment that already feels safe and familiar.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and create momentum in the therapy process. As you make progress and start feeling more grounded, we may transition to biweekly sessions if it feels like the right fit. We'll regularly check in about what's working and decide together on a schedule that best supports your goals.
-
The honest answer is: it depends. Every person, story, and goal is different. Some clients come to therapy for support through a specific life transition, while others are looking to heal long standing patterns related to anxiety, trauma, or self esteem.
We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our work as needed. My goal isn't to keep you in therapy forever; it's to help you feel confident using what you've learned outside of our sessions. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you, and together we'll decide when you're ready to reduce the frequency of sessions or wrap up therapy.
-
Therapy can bring up difficult emotions at times, especially when processing painful experiences. But you won't be expected to dive into anything before you're ready. We'll move at a pace that feels safe, and I'll help you build the tools to navigate whatever comes up.
Next Steps
Step 1
Book a free consultation call
I offer a free 15 minute phone call so you can ask any questions you might have about getting started and see if this feels like the right fit for you. It’s also a chance for us to connect a bit and get a sense of whether working together feels comfortable and supportive for you moving forward.
Step 2
Schedule your first session
At the end of our consultation call, we’ll go over the details together, including finding a weekly time that fits your schedule. Meeting consistently each week helps create the space and support you need to stay connected to your healing process and build real momentum over time.
Step 3
Welcome to your healing era!
We will begin to gently explore the parts of you that have been trying to protect you, even if those ways of coping have felt heavy, exhausting, or hard to carry.
Over time, we’ll start to understand the patterns that keep you stuck in anxiety, guilt, or shame and begin softening them, not forcing them.
